Donorschoose Yearly Challenge: Mission Accomplished!

Through projects funded on Donorschoose.org, my students participate in various classroom activities such as STEM competitions, hands-on makerspace building, and BreakoutEDU challenges. My classroom is well organized and clean. We even have “unplugged” days to play board games that reinforce financial literacy skills. All of these opportunities have been made possible thanks to projects that came to life through generous donors, special promotions, corporate sponsorships, and the Caring Classrooms community on Donorschoose.org. I am very fortunate and remain thankful for these great additions to my classroom. HERE are the projects that have been funded for me, if you are curious.

I’ve made many donations to other teachers on the Donorschoose.org site but looked for a special way to “give back” in the last few years. I decided to donate to at least one teacher in every state each year. Some weeks, my donations were small. Some weeks, my donations were bigger. I even had a few gift cards that were given to me along the way that I used towards my goal. I’m proud to share that I met my goal this week by fully funding the remaining amount on a teacher’s project in Vermont, my 50th state! It feels good to have helped so many of my fellow teachers. Without further ado, here are the projects that I helped in 2018:

If you are looking for a way to help out in your local community, check out Donorschoose.org and do a search by zip code. See if there are any projects for local teachers in a nearby school. The impact your donation could have on a classroom is immeasurable. Thank you!
