It’s Labor Day, the symbolic end of summer and beginning of the school year. It also marks the end of my medical leave. I haven’t taught since May 12th. I walked out of school that afternoon not knowing that I wouldn’t return for nearly 4 months. I’m excited and nervous at the same time. I’ll be headed back to my classroom in a boot, with a cane, and moving noticeably slower. I hope the odds are in my favor as I start this new school year. I’ll need it!
Happy back to school week to all of my colleagues and students!
